  3. Put on some muscle mass. Muscles don’t only make you look good. They actually serve a very important purpose. The more muscles you have, the better your metabolism is. This means the food you eat is burned at a faster rate. Do some resistance training every other day to pack in some muscles.
  4. Do some cardio. If time permits it, you may find it easier to split your cardio exercises into two. Some studies show that 30 minutes of exercise in the morning combined with 30 minutes in the evening is more effective than a full 60-minute cardio workout—and it becomes less tedious too.
  5. Say no to carbs—especially at night. You should generally stay away from high-carbohydrate foods such as processed goods and those with lots of sugar. This is especially true before bedtime as these carbs are deposited as fat while we sleep. If you must eat before hitting the hay, opt for fruits or veggies.

A multitude of exercise regimens, dieting techniques, or even weight loss pills are easily available online that promise the best results. However, it is also important to understand that there are a lot of misconceptions about burning fat. Here are some myths.

Myth 1: Running or jogging burns more fat than walking.

This is one of my favorites. We’ll need to do some math to disprove this myth. 62 calories is burned per 100 pounds of body weight for every mile. It doesn’t matter if you walk or jog. For instance, a 150-pound individual will burn 93 calories for each mile—regardless of his speed.

Myth 2: Exercising on an empty stomach will burn more fat.

Wrong. It’s actually quite contrary as the lack of energy produced by food may even hinder your exercise routine. It’s ideal to have a meal around 2 hours before a workout.

Myth 3: Fancy exercise machines are more effective than “natural” exercise.

Of course manufacturers will want you to believe that you’ll be burning more calories with their product. The simple fact is that the amount of calories burned is directly proportional to the effort expended in the activity. Simply put, the harder the workout, the more fat is burned.

Myth 4: You should only start weight training after you’ve begun losing weight.

Weight training should actually be part of your weight loss program. Lifting weights helps increase the metabolic fibers in your body that burn those unwanted calories.

Myth 5: To burn more fat, weight training should come before aerobic exercises.

This is another common misconception. The fact is that it doesn’t matter how you arrange your exercise—you should still be able to burn the same amount of calories. In fact, it’s better to do some cardio first because this serves as a good warm-up for your muscles. GP

This is why the government continues to persuade us to eat more vegetables and fruits. The problem is this is easier said than done.

I have written this article to provide readers with healthy nutrition tips on how to easily add fruits and veggies to your diets. These are easy, quick, and delicious ways to up your daily intake of plant foods.

Smoothies

Sugar-free and all-natural smoothies are an excellent way to add some fruits into your diet. For breakfast, try blending a bunch of strawberries, some grapes, two bananas, and two kiwis with 250 ml of pure pressed orange or apple juice. This is already a full meal and it will provide your body with loads of nutrients for the day ahead

Fruitful breakfast

This suggestion is excellent for those who have cereals for breakfast. Instead of settling for plain old cereals with milk, add some flavor to your meal by mixing in some fruits. Double up

Try this simple and handy trick. The next time you put some veggies on your plate for lunch or dinner, try to double the serving. Aside from leaving less room for other foods on your plate such as potatoes or meat, more veggies also means you are stuffing your body with more vitamins and nutrients.  GP
